For Week 4, I am making a return visit to History Tech.  As a future social studies teacher, this blog entices me.  After 3 weeks of writing about other blogs I am excited to be reviewing Mr. Glenn Wiebe‘s ideas about teaching history with technology again.

Unsurprisingly, I am not disappointed by the lessons Mr. Wiebe has to offer.  This week I chose to read some new and old posts.  Topics that I read about ranged from must see movies for history teachers to how to improve your lecturing (and why you should avoid it).  Mr. Wiebe not only blogs to help history teachers improve, but he also relates his content to most of the content areas.  The blog Using evidence and primary analysis worksheets speaks as to why literacy and writing skills are important.  He goes beyond history, beyond other content classrooms, and connects the need to use evidence and analysis to pratical, real world applications

such as voting or buying a car.  Students will eventually be adults who will need to make sound judgements based on information gathered and analyzed.

Overall, I am grateful that Mr. Wiebe is using his voice to advocate for history teachers, teachers, students, and those who just want to learn more.  His voice is truly a special one to the educational community.  I will continue to follow the History Tech blog and continue learning about how I can develop myself professionally, technologically, and practically.
